Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Sr. IT Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage wireless networks across SpaceX sites. The role focuses on designing, building, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless infrastructure supporting rocket, spacecraft, and ground operations.

The ideal candidate has strong wireless/RF expertise, CBRS experience, and hands-on use of Cisco/Cisco DNA Center, Ekahau, and monitoring tools, with CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other engineering discipline and 5+ years professional network engineering experience; OR 7+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expert understanding of wireless/RF technologies.
• Experience with CBRS deployments.
• Hands on experience with Cisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies; Cisco DNA Center; Ekahau; Network monitoring tools; Network documentation.
• Linux/Windows system administration.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.

Responsibilities

• Design access point placements for new wireless network deployments.
• Collaborate with the network infrastructure team to ensure deployments meet standards.
• Perform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps and remediation.
• Troubleshoot wireless issues across a large enterprise deployment.
• Schedule and perform software and hardware updates.
• Procure and manage wireless hardware inventory.
• Monitor wireless network health using in-house and third-party tools.
• Create and maintain documentation for wireless networks across sites.

SR. IT WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEER

SpaceX is looking for an experienced wireless network engineer with a strong background in designing, deploying and managing wireless networks in an enterprise environment. This employee will be a member of the Network Engineering team, which is responsible for managing SpaceX’s wireless networks across all sites. This network supports the designing, manufacturing and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites as well as human space flight. The position will be heavily focused on designing, building and troubleshooting wireless networks. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work, excel at multi-tasking and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Design access point placements for new wireless network deployments.
• Work closely with the network infrastructure team to ensure access points are deployed in desired locations and to our standards.
• Perform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps/performance concerns and implement remediation efforts.

Basic Qualifications

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work long hours, some nights and weekends when need to meet critical deadlines.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg and Cape Canaveral.
• Physical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials (up to 25 lbs unassisted) or equipment.
• Occasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain.
• Work occasionally performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
• Ability to work at elevated heights and/or tight spaces.
• Ability to travel as required to common destinations including Hawthorne, CA; McGregor, TX; Vandenberg, CA; Cape Canaveral, FL.

Compensation And Benefits

Pay Range:

Level 3: $155,000.00 - $215,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
