Job summary

Curaleaf is seeking a Sr. IT Project Manager in Stamford, CT to lead diverse IT projects from design through deployment. The role bridges IT, facilities, retail operations, and compliance to ensure technology readiness for locations across multiple states.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of IT project management, PMI-PMP/CSM, and strong experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Azure DevOps. On-site role with cross-functional leadership and vendor management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years IT PM experience incl. infra deployments, multi-site rollouts.
  • PMI-PMP or equivalent certs (CSM acceptable).
  • Expert in PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile, Scrum.
  • Experience with digital transformation and multi-state regulatory projects.
  • Proficient with Azure DevOps, ServiceNow SPM/CWM, MS Project & Office 365.

  • Drive components of digital transformation program aligned with strategic goals.
  • Lead multiple IT projects from initiation through hypercare and close.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans: scope, schedule, budget, risks, quality.
  • Apply Waterfall, Agile, Scrum based on project requirements.

  • Prepare executive reporting with RAG status, milestones and risks.
  • Manage budgets and resource allocation; mentor junior PMs.
  • Collaborate with other PMs/Scrum Masters and vendors.

About the Role

We are actively seeking a talented and experienced Sr. IT Project Manager to lead and manage a wide variety of IT projects from conceptual design through implementation. You must possess organizational skills, leadership capability, and communication skills to succeed in this role. You will coordinate with internal delivery teams and vendors as we design, develop, deploy, and support internal custom solutions and third‑party platforms. This role serves as the primary IT project lead supporting new location openings, expansions, remodels, acquisitions, and infrastructure deployments for corporate, retail and operations facilities across multiple states. The position bridges IT, construction, facilities, retail operations, compliance, asset protection, marketing operations, and third‑party vendors to ensure locations are technology-ready for inspection, licensing, and commercial operation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various project management methodologies and a proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects supporting digital and organizational transformation programs and operating in a highly regulated, multi‑state environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive key components of our organization's digital transformation program, ensuring alignment with strategic business and technology objectives
  • Lead multiple concurrent IT projects from initiation through hypercare and project close down
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, risks and quality
  • Apply appropriate methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) based on project requirements
  • Facilitate key project meetings and steering committee updates, managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships across IT, the business and external partners
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise executive and steering committee reporting, including RAG status, milestone tracking, and risk visibility
  • Manage project budgets and resource allocation to ensure optimal utilization
  • Resolve team impediments and collaborate with other Project Managers/Scrum Masters
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful delivery
  • Mentor junior project managers and provide team leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, stakeholders, and vendors
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible IT project management experience, including infrastructure deployments, retail technology implementations, construction-related programs, or multi-site technology rollouts.
  • PMI-PMP, CSM, or equivalent certifications
  • Expert knowledge of project methodologies and frameworks (PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile, Scrum)
  • Experience leading projects within digital transformation initiatives or significant organizational change programs
  • Experience with Azure DevOps suite or equivalent tool set
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow SPM / CWM, MS Project, MS Project Web App and Office 365 suite
  • Proficient understanding of SDLC with focus on agility, quality, and security
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, timeline, and budget
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, SOWs, and third‑party delivery teams

  • Experience operating within a regulated industry (e.g., cannabis, pharmaceutical, healthcare, CPG) with familiarity managing regulatory, GxP, or multi‑state compliance requirements within IT projects
  • Experience managing technology workstreams associated with facility construction, remodel, relocation, or expansion projects.
  • Experience with data privacy and security frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA) as applied to project delivery
  • Experience operating within a formal PMO governance model with defined phase gates and executive steering committees
