Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles in Augusta, GA seeks a Senior IT Project Manager to lead large, complex IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring business and technology outcomes align with strategic goals.

The role requires 5+ years of leading technology initiatives, strong PMO discipline, and hands-on use of MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Power BI. Onsite work with a fast-paced manufacturing environment expected.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, MIS, PM, or related field required, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience leading technology projects, programs, or large-scale business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex IT projects and programs from initiation to closure with accountability for business and technology outcomes.
• Develop integrated delivery strategies, scope, schedules, budgets, resource plans, governance approaches, and implementation plans across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
• Anticipate and manage complex risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints involving business operations, technology, vendors, finances, resources, and organizational readiness.
• Navigate tradeoffs involving scope, timing, resources, budget, risk, and business value while maintaining sponsor and executive alignment.
• Serve as the primary delivery leader for sponsors, business leaders, technical leaders, vendors, and executives, providing recommendations and decision support.
• Lead project governance, executive status reviews, escalation forums, and decision-making processes for visibility into performance, risks, milestones, financials, and business outcomes.
• Manage material project financials, forecasts, variances, vendor commitments, contracts, and resource strategies to support effective use of investments.
• Lead complex change control, implementation, testing, deployment, training, transition, and adoption activities across business and technology groups.
• Manage strategic vendors, consultants, and implementation partners and ensure contractual obligations, delivery commitments, and performance expectations are met.
• Mentor project managers and project coordinators and apply lessons learned to strengthen PMO delivery standards.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Management Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, nine (9) years of relevant project management, program management, portfolio management, PMO, information technology, or related professional experience may be considered.

Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience leading technology projects, programs, or large-scale business initiatives.

Software Knowledge: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required; strong experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet), reporting and dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI), SharePoint, and SAP or other enterprise business systems required.

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and business functions.

• Experience leading enterprise technology implementations, business transformation initiatives, infrastructure projects, ERP implementations, or similar large-scale efforts.

• Manufacturing, industrial, or operational business experience preferred.

• PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, or comparable project management certification preferred.
