Job summary

Fuse Eng is seeking a senior IT engineer to deliver enterprise-level systems administration with a focus on Nutanix virtualization, Windows Server environments, and SCCM management.

The role includes DLP administration, PKI certificate management, security remediation, and developing SOPs. A Top Secret SCI w/ Maryland Polygraph clearance and extensive experience are required.

  • Twelve (12) years as an IT Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline; Master’s may substitute for 2 years.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570; Security+ CE is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for Nutanix virtualization environments and troubleshoot related issues.
  • Test and deploy Nutanix VirtIO and NGT apps using SCCM and assist with deployments.
  • Create and maintain Windows Server 2022/2025 templates and manage patching via SCCM.
  • Assist with DLP administration, policy enforcement, and endpoint scanning efforts.
  • Manage PKI certificates across Nutanix infrastructure and apply to servers and CVMs.
  • Create SOPs and document procedures to promote repeatable operational processes.
  • Provide general technical support and collaborate with team members as required.

Description

Position Overview

Responsible for providing enterprise-level systems administration and virtualization support, with a primary focus on Nutanix virtualization infrastructure, Microsoft Windows Server environments, SCCM application and patch management, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), security remediation, PKI certificate management, and technical documentation. The role also supports testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Nutanix Virtualization Support
    • Provide day-to-day operational support for Nutanix virtualization environments.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization, host, virtual machine, and related infrastructure issues.
    • Perform routine administrative and maintenance activities within the Nutanix environment.
  • Application Testing and Deployment
    • Test and deploy Nutanix VirtIO and Nutanix Guest Tools (NGT) applications using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
    • Perform SCCM application deployments and assist with troubleshooting deployment-related issues.
    • Validate applications and deployment packages prior to production implementation.
  • Windows Server Administration
    • Create and maintain Windows Server 2022/2025 templates used for server provisioning and deployment.
    • Perform Windows Server decommissioning activities in accordance with established procedures.
    • Manage Windows Server patching through SCCM, including Microsoft monthly security and quality updates.
    • Assist with server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting as required.
  • Data Transfer and Patch Support
    • Serve as a backup resource for DTA transfer activities involving data transfers and Microsoft monthly patching.
    • Coordinate with the primary DTA resource to ensure continuity of operations and coverage when required.
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Administration
    • Administer DLP 16.1 environments, including policy creation, configuration, and enforcement rules.
    • Support the implementation, testing, and maintenance of DLP policies and controls.
    • Participate in DLP 16.1 Endpoint Scanning testing and implementation efforts, leveraging vendor-provided support hours as appropriate.
  • Security Vulnerability Remediation
    • Review and remediate findings identified through Nessus vulnerability scans.
    • Implement security hardening measures, such as removing weak cipher suites and addressing other identified vulnerabilities on DLP and associated servers.
    • Validate remediation activities and assist with maintaining system security and compliance.
  • PKI and Certificate Management
    • Generate, install, renew, and manage PKI certificates across Nutanix infrastructure.
    • Apply certificates to Nutanix HPE iLO interfaces, hosts, Controller Virtual Machines (CVMs), and other applicable infrastructure components.
    • Troubleshoot certificate-related issues and ensure certificates are properly configured and maintained.
  • Technical Documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
    • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring technical processes and newly completed tasks.
    • Document procedures whenever existing documentation is unavailable or requires improvement.
    • Promote consistent and repeatable operational processes through accurate technical documentation.
  • General Technical Support
    • Participate in office-based activities and provide assistance with additional technical assignments as required.
    • Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to support operational priorities and infrastructure requirements.
    • Perform additional systems administration and technical support duties as assigned.

Requirements

Top Secret SCI w/ Maryland Polygraph Security Clearance Required

Twelve (12) years as an IT Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.

Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to ten (10) years of experience. Four (4) years of additional IT Engineer experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree, making the total experience requirement sixteen (16) years as an IT Engineer without a degree.
