Job summary

• Excellent cross-functional communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform root-cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, bin accuracy issues, and transactional errors, drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide informed recommendations to management across business functions that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and material flow.
• Coordinate cycle counts, location audits, and full physical inventories; ensure count procedures comply with company policies.
• Review and maintain accurate item and location data within the ERP system, including stocking locations, units of measure, lot/serial tracking.
• Develop and maintain inventory performance reports and KPIs such as inventory accuracy, fill rate, cycle count effectiveness, and aging inventory.
• Monitor inventory usage and provide management with guidance on Excess and Obsolete (E/O) recommendations.
• Improve material handling processes, and storage optimization to enhance space utilization and pick/put efficiency.
• Monitor slow-moving, damaged, expired, or obsolete stock, work with operations and planning teams on disposition or rework strategies.
• Ensure proper execution of warehouse transactions such as receipts, transfers, adjustments, issues, and returns, train staff when necessary.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse layout, process standardization, barcode scanning, and material flow.
• Collaborate with Production Control and Planning teams to ensure timely and accurate material staging, kitting, and replenishment.
• Provide leadership within the inventory control function.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Overview

The Sr. Inventory Control Analyst supports warehouse operations by ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing storage and material flow, and maintaining reliable data within the warehouse management or ERP system. This role works closely with warehouse supervisors, production planning, procurement, and quality to minimize stockouts, reduce errors, and drive improvements in warehouse efficiency and inventory control.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Strong understanding of WMS/ERP systems and warehouse processes such as receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and shipping.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally with warehouse operations, planning, procurement, and quality teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of lean warehousing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred
• Familiarity with manufacturing material flow, kitting, or line-side replenishment preferred

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, logistics or other relevant field.
• APICS Certification (Preferred)

Experience

• 5+ years of inventory control or warehouse operations experience, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Experience in aerospace and defense industry a plus.
