Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead workplace-focused interior design projects from Raleigh, NC. You will guide programming, schematic concepts, and design development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across sectors like workplace and science & technology.

The ideal candidate brings 6-8+ years in commercial interior design, with strong Revit and BIM skills, and a passion for leadership and client relationships. This is a fully onsite role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in commercial interior design, with significant workplace design exposure.
  • Strong understanding of workplace environments and emerging office design trends.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, InDesign, BIM workflows.
  • Experience developing furniture specifications, finish packages, and bid documentation.
  • Knowledge of commercial FF&E products and workplace design standards.
  • Understanding of building systems, accessibility requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Strong space planning, sketching, and design communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, coordination, and verbal communication abilities.
  • NCIDQ certification, or actively pursuing certification, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive interior design direction through all project phases, from planning through construction.
  • Create complex space plans that support functionality, flexibility, and user experience.
  • Guide the selection and presentation of furniture, finishes, lighting, color palettes, and other interior elements.
  • Develop interior detailing for high-quality, branded environments.
  • Oversee design documentation, production, and construction drawing development using Revit.
  • Coordinate closely with consultants, project partners, and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage furniture and finish pricing efforts, including bid coordination and vendor engagement.
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and project observations.
  • Maintain project schedules while ensuring high-quality design deliverables.
  • Serve as a key client-facing resource, leading presentations and design discussions.
  • Mentor and support junior designers while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel occasionally to support project requirements.

An established and growing design practice is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join its Raleigh team. This role offers the opportunity to lead workplace-focused interior design projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams serving sectors such as workplace, science & technology, and mission‑critical environments.

What You'll Do
Design Leadership
  • Lead programming, conceptual design, and schematic development efforts for a variety of commercial interior projects.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
