Job summary

STV’s Transportation group in Chicago, IL is seeking experienced transportation construction inspectors with 5+ years of experience on civil, buildings, railroad track and/or bridge construction projects. The roles are full-time/part-time for the Chicago Region with outdoor field work. HS Diploma or GED required; AS/BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

OSHA training is a plus. Candidates must be able to work nights/weekends and have a valid driver’s license for field

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction inspection and/or management experience on civil, buildings, and/or bridge projects.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; CTA Trimble and EBuilder experience is a plus.
• Must be able to work in field environments; OSHA training a plus.
• HS Diploma or GED; AS/BS preferred in civil engineering or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work.
• Review contractor procedures, materials and work for conformance with CTA specifications.
• Work nights and weekends as required; valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Attend training to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications.
• Work on field construction sites in outdoor environments.

STV’s Transportation group inChicago, IL is seeking experienced transportation construction inspector with experience on CTA, CDOT, Tollway, IDOT, and/or bridge construction and rehabilitation projects.

We have upcoming needs for multiple construction inspector positions on Full-Time and Part-Time, short-term and long-term projects for the Chicago Region clients. Positions require 5+ years of experience on Civil, buildings, RR track and or bridge construction inspection projects. OSHA training or certification a plus.

A HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience is required. An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. If you meet these criteria, have good technical skills, can work in a field construction site environment, and enjoy working outdoors, we want to hear from you.

Required Skills & Relevant Experience:

• 5+ years of construction inspection and/or management experience with Civil, buildings and or bridge construction inspection projects.
• Experienced with Excel and Microsoft Word and CTA Trimble, EBuilder, websites experience a plus.
• Concrete, Asphalt, Traffic Control, Track experience and OSHA Construction Safety and/or other related certifications a plus.
• Prepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work.
• Ability to review contractor’s procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with CTA specifications.
• Possess strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills, excel, word, emails.
• Willingness to work in a safe manner and within company, project, and OSHA safety guidelines on a civil/bridge/rail construction site.
• Be able to work nights and weekends and possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Ability and willingness to attend training / classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications

Compensation Range:

$97,980.00 - $111,341.00
