Mercy is seeking a medical coder to review and analyze documentation in inpatient, outpatient, and professional services to assign diagnoses and procedures. The role follows AHIMA Standards and official coding guidelines while applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding practices. Preferred qualifications include an AS/B.S.
in HIM, RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC/CIRCC or equivalent, and 3 years of coding experience. Epic and 3M encoder familiarity are a plus, with standard hospital data-entry duties and 25%
The coder is responsible for reviewing and analyzing documentation present in the medical record for inpatient, outpatient and/or professional services to assign diagnoses/procedure codes as described by the physician(s) of record. Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and adheres to official coding guidelines.
