Job summary

Applied Information Sciences seeks an experienced Sr. Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and support enterprise solutions across multi-region cloud environments. You will lead architectural initiatives, build scalable data pipelines, and mentor teams while ensuring security and governance.

The role requires mastering Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, FluxCD, and Azure DevOps in a US-wide remote work model, with responsibilities spanning infrastructure design to deployment automation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field; 2 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience designing/deploying Cloud infrastructure using reusable Terraform modules to provision Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, RBAC, and other Cloud services via Terraform Cloud for governance and automation.
• Onboarding applications into Kubernetes with Helm and GitOps (FluxCD); implementing Cloud IAM for secure pod-to-service authentication; building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for both infrastructure and application deployments.
• Designing cloud networking including VNets, private endpoints, DNS, Application Gateway, Front Door, and API management (APIM).
• Deploying/maintaining multi-region workloads, testing failover and disaster recovery, and automating governance through Terraform Cloud and Azure DevOps.

As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer.

This position is based out of our Reston, VA office but eligible to work remotely within the United States.

Required For This Opportunity

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and two (2) years of experience as software engineer or related. At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.The targeted base salary range for this role is $140,000-$155,000 per year.
