Job summary

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Transportation & Logistics Operations

  • Lead day-to-day global transportation operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of inbound and outbound shipments across parcel, air, ocean, and ground transportation modes.
  • Manage the operational performance of freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), including service level agreements (SLAs), scorecards, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee shipment visibility, tracking, and exception management processes to proactively identify and resolve transportation disruptions, customs delays, and service failures.
  • Monitor and analyze key logistics performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, transit lead time, clearance performance, freight spend, and carrier performance.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize transportation networks, reduce costs, improve service levels, and enhance supply chain resiliency.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including CBP, BIS/EAR, OFAC, and applicable customs and export-control requirements across global operations.
  • Supervise import activities, including HTS classification, customs valuation, country-of-origin determination, broker management, and entry review processes.
  • Oversee export compliance activities, including ECCN classification support, AES filings, export licensing requirements, deemed export reviews, restricted party screening, and destination control requirements.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for import/export compliance issues, customs holds, government inquiries, and shipment-related regulatory concerns.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external service providers to assess compliance risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Support and maintain trade compliance programs, policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and operational consistency.

3. Shipping Documentation, Audit & Regulatory Controls

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of shipping and customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and export declarations.
  • Validate critical trade data elements, including HTS classifications, ECCNs, Incoterms, valuation methodology, and country-of-origin information.
  • Maintain import/export records in accordance with applicable regulatory retention requirements.
  • Support customs audits, internal compliance assessments, broker reviews, and government agency requests.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate business impacts, risks, and required actions to internal stakeholders.

4. Process Improvement & Systems Integration

  • Drive continuous improvement and enhancements in SAP ERP, Oracle GTM, and other trade management systems to improve automation, reporting, visibility, and compliance controls.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes and best practices across global trade and logistics operations.
  • Analyze operational and compliance data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, integrations, testing activities, and user training initiatives related to logistics and trade compliance processes.

5. Governance, Training & Cross-Functional Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert for global trade operations, logistics, customs compliance, and export controls.
  • Lead employee and stakeholder training on import/export regulations, compliance procedures,
  • Act as a key liaison between HQ, regional teams, and business units to align logistics and compliance strategies.
  • Provide guidance and training on logistics and trade best practices, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
  • Support KPI reporting, risk assessments, and governance initiatives led by US-HQ.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in global logistics operations combined with import/export trade compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations (CBP, BIS/EAR, OFAC) and international customs practices.
  • Proven expertise in logistics management, freight optimization, and customs entry processes.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP for shipment execution and compliance documentation; familiarity with Oracle GTM is a plus.

SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in high-tech, semiconductor, or manufacturing industries preferred.
