Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in U.S. import compliance, customs, or international trade.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, and trade regulations.
  • Experience supporting Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), customs audits, and government inquiries preferred.
  • Familiarity with trade remedy programs including Section 232, Section 301, FTAs, FTZs, and duty drawback.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar trade compliance systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across global functions.

Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Sr Import Analyst to support the company's global import compliance program and international supply chain operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. customs laws and global import regulations while supporting high-volume manufacturing and distribution activities.

The Senior Import Analyst will partner closely with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, finance, customs brokers, and external service providers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective import operations. This position will play a key role in customs compliance, tariff classification, trade remedy programs, post-entry activities, and continuous process improvements supporting Supermicro's global business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Import Compliance & Customs Operations
  • Perform and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for products, components, and materials.
  • Determine country of origin and support customs valuation in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Review import documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and other global import requirements.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely and compliant import transactions.
  • Support post-entry activities, including Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), prior disclosures, protests, reconciliations, and other customs compliance initiatives.
  • Respond to customs inquiries and assist with audits, Requests for Information (CF28), Notices of Action (CF29), and other government requests.
Trade Compliance & Regulatory Support
  • Support compliance with U.S. customs regulations, trade remedy programs, and other global import requirements.
  • Assist with duty mitigation initiatives, including Section 232, Section 301, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), and duty drawback programs.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate business impacts to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance documentation to support internal controls and audit readiness.
Operational Excellence
  • Develop and improve import compliance policies, procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Analyze import data to identify compliance risks, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strengthen compliance controls.
  • Support trade compliance systems, master data maintenance, reporting, and automation initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Global Trade Compliance organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of8 years of experience in U.S. import compliance, customs, or international trade.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, customs entry procedures, and trade regulations.
  • Experience supporting Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), customs audits, and government inquiries preferred.
  • Familiarity with trade remedy programs including Section 232, Section 301, FTAs, FTZs, and duty drawback.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar trade compliance systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global business functions.
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) certification is preferred but not required.
Salary Range

$120,000 - $140,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
