Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced on-site HVAC technician to perform end-to-end testing, commissioning, and servicing at customer locations. You will act as the company’s representative, diagnosing and repairing equipment while coordinating with project leaders to meet site requirements and timelines.

The role requires a high school diploma, 10+ years in HVAC, EPA Universal Certification, and a valid driver’s license. Field-based work may include overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically 10+ years of HVAC experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Technical training or trade school preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record (minimum 12 months).

Responsibilities

• End-to-end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.
• Serve as direct customer contact, service products and equipment at customer locations.
• Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand on-site installation and repair requirements.
• Diagnose and repair units using software, blueprints and engineering specs.
• Enforce safety standards and manage assets and equipment.
• Mentor team members and support on-site teams.
• Be flexible to work overtime and occasional overnight stays.

Field-based: Work is conducted on-site at customer locations.

What you will do:

• Responsible for end to end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.
• Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.
• Coordinates with team leader/project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
• Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
• Mentor team members.
• Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

What you will bring:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required.
• Typically requires at least 10 plus years of experience in HVAC.
• Technical School or formal training is preferred.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
• EPA Universal Certification Required.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $34.37 - $65.12 Compensation Type: Hourly Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
