Job summary

Schindler Group seeks a Senior HR Generalist to manage a broad set of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws and company policies.

You will serve as a key contact for employees and management, guiding HR best practices, developing programs, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Strong interpersonal skills and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field - REQUIRED
  • Master's degree, MBA - PREFERRED
  • Progressive HR experience with employee relations and generalist responsibilities - 3 to 5 years
  • Experience supporting operational, manufacturing, supply chain, service, or multi-site environments preferred - 3 to 5 years
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and advising leaders on employee management issues - 3 to 5 years

Sr Human Resources Generalist
Your main responsibilities

The Sr HR Generalist manages and supports a wide range of human resources functions including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws and company policies. They serve as a key point of contact for employees and management, provide guidance on HR best practices, assist in developing and implementing HR programs and initiatives, and contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of HR regulations, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Employee Relations and HR Consulting
    • Serve as the primary HR advisor to managers and employees on employee relations matters, performance concerns, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
    • Conduct and document employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
    • Foster a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment that supports employee engagement and organizational success.
    • Provide coaching to managers regarding employee performance, development, corrective actions, and leadership effectiveness.
    • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and HR leadership on sensitive employee matters and risk mitigation activities.
  • Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness
    • Support the performance management process including goal setting, development planning, performance reviews, and succession planning activities.
    • Partner with leaders to identify talent needs, development opportunities, promotions, transfers, and organizational changes.
    • Facilitate career development discussions and talent review initiatives.
    • Assist leadership in workforce planning and organizational design efforts to support business objectives.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruiting activities for exempt and non-exempt positions.
    • Assist with workforce planning, requisition creation, candidate selection, and onboarding efforts.
    • Support internship, university recruiting, and early career talent programs as applicable.
    • Ensure new hires experience a successful transition into the organization.
  • HR Operations, Compliance, and Data Management
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
    • Support HR audits, reporting, documentation, and recordkeeping activities.
    • Maintain employee data integrity and assist with HRIS transactions and organizational updates.
    • Ensure accuracy of job descriptions, position profiles, and organizational records.
    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency.
  • Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Support
    • Provide guidance regarding compensation programs, benefits administration, and employee programs.
    • Partner with managers and Total Rewards on promotions, transfers, organizational changes, and market-based compensation recommendations.
    • Participate in annual compensation planning and employee communication efforts.
  • HR Projects and Strategic Initiatives
    • Lead or participate in HR projects and initiatives that support organizational goals.
    • Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
    • Support change management and organizational development initiatives.
    • Serve as a champion for company culture, values, and employee engagement programs
What you bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field - REQUIRED
  • Master's degree, MBA - PREFERRED

Experience

  • Progressive Human Resources experience, including substantial employee relations and generalist responsibilities - 3 to 5 years
  • Experience supporting operational, manufacturing, supply chain, service, or multi-site environments preferred - 3 to 5 years
  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and advising leaders on employee management issues - 3 to 5 years
