Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Sr. HR Partner for the AWS BeXT HR Partner Team in Seattle, WA. This role partners with managers to drive employee experience, counsel on HR programs, and harmonize practices across businesses.

You will lead talent development, performance management, and HR policy implementation across a matrixed environment. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of HR generalist experience, strong communication, and a deep understanding of employment law and local processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Human Resources Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience.
  • Experience in matrixed organizations and in employee relations/labor relations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Managers across channels to handle sensitive and complex issues.
  • Support talent management, performance, and employee relations processes.
  • Respond to non-routine inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Own processes for disciplinary, performance, and exit management.
  • Consult on compensation planning and off-cycle requests.
  • Guide managers through difficult conversations and development plans.
  • Act as a program manager for HR tools and processes.

They act as the frontline consultant to people managers in creating a positive employee experience, offering consistent HR advice on people matters. They operate and are seen as subject matter experts, having sound knowledge in company and local processes, programs, and policies, offering a strong and compelling point of view around HR related matters, thus building credibility. They are committed to collaboration with multiple HR Business Partners, HR specialists and people managers across various businesses. A key area of focus for the Sr. HR Partner is to increase manager capability, enabling them to be more self-sufficient, and driving manager education on important people programs, policies, tools and processes. While doing this, the HR Partners are continuously raising the bar on harmonizing practice across businesses and sharing best practices.

Key job responsibilities
  • A Sr. HR Partner will collaborate with Managers over different channels, supporting sensitive and complex issues including disciplinary and performance processes.
  • The Sr. HR Partner will act as an influential partner in helping managers with talent management processes, people development, performance management, and employee relations concerns. This role is well positioned to support leaders across a range of HR needs.
  • Respond to non-routine inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Process ownership for including disciplinary & performance improvement & exit management.
  • Consultation on people matters that require in-depth knowledge of policies, procedures and local legislation.
  • Work with people managers end to end on performance management cases.
  • Consult Managers on Compensation matters, planning, and during off cycle and exception compensation requests.
  • Coach and guide managers through difficult conversation, career conversations, Development Plans/Career Growth Plans and other development initiatives.
  • Act as stewards of the employee experience and Amazon “culture keepers”.
  • Act as a point of contact and Program Manager for people tools, processes, programs or projects.
  • Manage implementation and review of those.
  • Complete cross functional projects and develop programs that improve the employee experience and increase manager capability.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Business/Management, Psychology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of human resource generalist experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Experience coaching and mentoring at the management level
  • Experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law
  • Can show strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience handling administrative details independently, while exercising good judgment in keeping team members adequately informed
  • *Strong business and HR accumen

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
