Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Sr. Hardware Engineer in Raleigh, NC to design and develop PCB assemblies for harsh environment industrial Ethernet switches.

You will verify hardware, support products through lifecycle, and collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production. The role requires 6+ years in analog/digital PCB design, LV power supplies up to 138V, EMC-compliant schematic entry, and experience with embedded CPU/SoC, networking (1Gb/10Gb), and FPGA design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE).
• Over 6 years of experience with both analog and digital design.
• Extensive experience with low voltage power supply design (DC up to 138V).
• Proficiency in schematic entry and design for EMC compliance.
• Experience in embedded CPU, microprocessor, and SoC design.
• Strong experience in networking design, including 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet, switching, and NOR/NAND flash memory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in designing for harsh environments (-40C to +75C).
• EMC compliance testing experience (UL, CSA, TUV, FCC).
• PoE design expertise (IEEE 802.3bt).
• Knowledge of programmable logic and FPGA design.
• Experience with fiber optic interface design.
• Proficiency in PCB layout, especially high-speed and EMI considerations.
• Experience in DFM/DFT.
• Previous mentoring or leadership experience.

Work Environment

This role is based in a normal office environment with a moderate noise level. The job requires occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching. The position involves consistent work on a PC and requires the ability to sit and use a keyboard and/or telephone for over 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
