We are seeking experienced Thermal/Mechanical Engineers to build the next generation of our cloud platforms. What you will do: As a member of the Hardware Engineering Mechanical/Thermal/Robotics (MTR) Engineering team you’ll be responsible for the design of our server platforms. You’ll provide leadership in the application of new cooling and mechanical technologies to large scale server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience. This is a fast-paced, challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You’ll have relentlessly high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve your products performance, quality and cost. You’ll need to understand when a change in technology enables a completely different way of approaching server design. We’re changing an industry, and we want team members who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.

Key job responsibilities:

1. Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems
2. Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives
3. Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions
4. Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems
5. Manage interaction with overseas resources
6. Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7+ years experience in server technologies such as, thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
