Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Cupertino seeks a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to lead server hardware design, development, validation and operations for next-generation AWS EC2 servers.

You will own component boards, work across high-speed interconnects, multi-core processors, and memory, collaborating with ODM partners to deliver high quality, cost-effective solutions while driving engineering excellence and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of new hardware products development experience.
• 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience.
• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent (preferred).
• 10 years of experience in server hardware design and validation (preferred).
• Experience in managing ODM relationships and driving technical programs (preferred).
• Experience in developing and implementing validation test plans (preferred).
• Experience developing high quality test plans, test designs, test strategies, and test execution (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and lead technical discussions with ODM partners (preferred).

Key job responsibilities

AWS Hardware Engineering is looking for a customer-obsessed, team-driven technology leader to take our engineering of server hardware to the next level. As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer on the AWS Board Core Design team within the Core Components Organization, you will develop the building blocks for our next-generation servers. You will be responsible for the hardware design, development, and maintenance of the hardware component circuit boards that build up the AWS servers. You will work on next generation technology, across multiple domains, including high speed interconnects, multi-core performant processors, and high-capacity multi-channel memory. You will directly contribute to the success of the EC2 servers by owning the component board from architecture, development, validation and operations. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
