Job description

Sr. Global Supply Manager (Starlink)

SpaceX’s supply chain department plays a critical role in operations, managing procurement, planning and fulfillment, supplier development and quality, logistics, and inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the supply base to support sourcing for Starlink.
  • Provide weekly team status reporting and raise issues to management.
  • Train and mentor the team to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work directly with key suppliers to develop sourcing and cost‑management strategies for existing platforms and new product development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on strategies for capital purchases and production consumables.
  • Understand technical aspects of production equipment to identify cost, space, and process optimization opportunities; use data analytics to parse process‑related opportunities.
  • Negotiate to maximize value and delivery priority while managing risk; align costs with program budgets.
  • Build and own overall project budgets, compile funding requests, and generate capitalization plans based on project timelines focusing on total cost of ownership.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and market analysis for assigned categories.
  • Communicate equipment status to management, including schedules, risks, mitigation actions, and respond promptly to changes.
  • Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk, enable continuous cost reduction, and align with company strategy on payment terms, cash targets, on‑time delivery, and cost savings.
  • Build genuine relationships internally and externally and drive cross‑functional teams to achieve consensus.
  • Present value propositions to executives, including contract awards, cost reviews, cost‑reduction strategies, and critical supply issues.
Basic Qualifications
  • Advanced degree and 9+ years of experience in one or more of the following categories.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 11+ years of experience in one or more of the following categories.
  • 15+ years of experience in one or more of the following categories.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with hardware systems and supply chain for electronic products, familiarity with the ecosystem for electronic components, PCBA, PCB, NPI bring‑up methodology, and production ramp.
  • Experience cultivating leadership relationships, supplier strategy, commercial and contractual engagement and management with key strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to manage suppliers ensuring production readiness, supply assurance, delivery, cost, and quality across product development to production.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong ability to communicate at all internal levels.
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast‑moving, ever‑changing environment.
  • Ability to conduct all activities with integrity and urgency.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel for short and extended trips as needed.
  • Must be able to work flexible and extended hours, including weekends.
  • This position is based in Redmond, WA and requires being onsite.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay range: Sr. Global Supply Manager $160,000.00 – $210,000.00 per year.
  • Base salary is one part of the total rewards package; eligible for long‑term incentives (stock or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, and opportunities to purchase additional stock at a discount through the employee stock purchase plan.
