Job summary

Starlink seeks a Sr. Global Supply Manager to support construction and facility projects. You will develop contract management processes, lead procurement for equipment and services, and manage supplier relations to optimize cost, delivery, and quality.

You will interact with internal stakeholders, negotiate contracts, and present value propositions for strategic sourcing initiatives. This role requires onsite work in Bastrop, TX and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree and 9+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, operations or supply chain management, master production scheduling, construction, facilities, or industrial plant management.
• Bachelor’s degree with 11+ years of experience in the same areas or 15+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

SR. GLOBAL SUPPLY MANAGER, CAPITAL EQUIPMENT & CONSTRUCTION (STARLINK)

This Sr. Global Supply Manager role will mainly support construction and facility related projects for xAIdatacenters. It will enable the production of our customer-facing products, while interfacing closely with key internal stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who can think outside the box to achieve company objectives regarding value and partnerships with our suppliers. This individual will support construction projects and capital purchases for the construction and facilities organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive contract management process that ensure a successful project execution cycle
• Develop and execute equipment & services procurement strategies with focus on construction projects
• Perform market analysis to determine should costs and achieve the best purchasing deals for equipment and services for diverse projects
• Create and negotiate contract documents in collaboration with the legal department
• Track and report projected and actual spend, assess budgetary risk, and provide clear budgetary analysis to enable timely management team decision making
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring clear communication, adherence to contracts, and resolution of any performance or delivery issues
• Present value propositions to the company management, including those related to contract award, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies, and critical supply issues
• Identify and execute cost reduction projects including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, estimating completion, and project updates
• Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement, and performance for assigned categories
• Create and implement management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply base
• Lead and execute request for proposals to fulfill requirements for defined categories or internal assigned areas
• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categories
• Develop and lead efforts to reduce number of transactions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced degree and 9+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor’s degree and 11+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 15+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:
• Engineering
• Purchasing
• Contract negotiation
• Operations or supply chain management
• Master production scheduling
• Construction, facilities, or industrial plant management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Strong technical background to speak the language of engineers and strong business background to deal with contracts and negotiations
• Construction project management experience and/or construction cost estimate experience
• Familiarity or experience in purchasing or similar procurement related experience
• Experience in industrial engineering, construction management, and/or facilities management
• Strong budget tracking and cost analytical skills
• Extensive project management and organizational skills
• Experience managing large scale industrial and commercial construction projects
• Strong contract negotiation and document management skills
• Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours - up to20% work week travel may be required, including international travel
• Willingness to work long hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlines
• This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite
