Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions seeks a seasoned procurement leader to drive value across defined commodities. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, identify sources, negotiate prices and delivery, and own the supplier relationship globally.

The role requires strong negotiation, project leadership, and international experience, with up to 25% travel. Bachelor’s degree or higher and Fortune 500 experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing with a Fortune 500 company.
  • Strong commodity experience within global sourcing.
  • Proven negotiating skills, leadership/management, and project leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • International business experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (plus).

Responsibilities

  • Drive lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
  • Predict marketplace events and develop long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.
  • Show strong interpersonal skills to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage multiple projects and activities with competing priorities.
  • Select and develop suppliers into strategic partners bringing value and innovation to the supply chain.
  • Lead competitive bidding processes and make/buy analyses.
  • Measure and report supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.

Establishes and leads cross functional commodity teams to create and implement valueoptimizingsupply strategies for assigned commodity/commodities. Works with project teams toidentifysources and negotiatepriceand delivery for new components. Ultimately responsiblefor the supply relationship within the assigned commodity/commodities. Travels asrequiredfor the successful completion of duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • (20%)A proven ability to drive lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
  • (10%)Considerable knowledge of sources of supply, markets, price, and commodity trends, with the ability to accurately predict marketplace events and develop both long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.
  • (10%)Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make presentations and influence people at all levels of the organization, including upper management.
  • (10%)The ability to manage multiple projects and activities that often have competing priorities.
  • (10%)Selects & Developers suppliers into strategic partners bringing value & innovation to the supply chain.
  • (5%)Performs and Manages Competitive bidding process,Makevs Buyanalysis.
  • (5%)Evaluate, measure and report Supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
  • (5%)Advanced proficiencyin MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint,Excel& Outlook.
  • (5%)The ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Education and Experience Profile
  • Bachelor’s Degree in businessor technical field or equivalent experience. Advance degree desired.
  • 7+ yearspurchasing experience, with a preference towards procurement in a manufacturing environment with a Fortune 500 Company.
  • Strong commodity experiencewithin global sourcing
  • Proven negotiating skills, Team Leadership/ManagementSkills, and Project Leadership experiencerequired.
  • Strong analytical skillsrequired.
  • International Business Experiencerequired.
  • A master's degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus
  • A Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other related professional certification,completed or in progress is desired.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification,completed or inprogressis a plus.
  • Experience in supply chain operations and/or management is plus
