Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java & Azure Engineer. This remote role in the United States involves designing secure, scalable cloud-native apps and leading engineering practices with product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams.

You will build Java/Spring Boot APIs, Azure integrations, and containerized workloads, while enhancing CI/CD, automated testing, and security controls.

Competenze

• 5+ years of software engineering experience across full-stack development for web apps, APIs, data stores, and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, API development, and cloud-native design.
• Experience designing secure, maintainable, and testable software using OO principles and design patterns.
• Experience building cloud-native, containerized, event-driven solutions including async integrations.
• DevSecOps experience across CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, dependencies, and security scans.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, IaC, cloud config, secrets management, and environment promotion.
• Strong troubleshooting and observability skills across apps, integrations, data, pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams.

About the role

As a Senior Full Stack Java & Azure Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud-native applications. You will work collaboratively with product, architecture, security, quality engineering, DevOps, and operations teams to build modern applications and establish strong engineering practices.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, test, and support secure, reliable, and maintainable software aligned with approved architecture and engineering standards.

• Develop Java/Spring Boot APIs, modern web and PWA capabilities, Azure integrations, data-access components, and containerized workloads.

• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and quality controls, security checks, branch protections, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Apply security-by-design practices across authentication, authorization, secrets management, sensitive data, dependencies, logging, and least-privilege access.

• Mentor engineers, provide actionable code-review feedback, and establish reusable engineering patterns and development standards.

• Proactively identify technical risks and delivery roadblocks and collaborate with stakeholders to drive resolution.

What you need to have to be considered

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full-stack development experience across modern web applications, APIs, data stores, and distributed systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, API development, and cloud-native application design.

• Experience designing secure, maintainable, and testable software using object-oriented principles, design patterns, and API-first approaches.

• Experience building cloud-native, containerized, and event-driven solutions, including asynchronous integrations.

• Strong DevSecOps experience across CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, dependency and security scanning, source control, and deployment controls.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, infrastructure as code, cloud configuration, secrets management, and environment promotion strategies.

• Strong troubleshooting and observability skills across applications, integrations, data, pipelines, and cloud platforms.

• Ability to provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively across product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams.

These will help you stand out

• Advanced experience building and supporting Java/Spring Boot applications on Microsoft Azure.

• Experience designing and operating containerized and event-driven applications in complex enterprise environments.

• Strong knowledge of secure software development and DevSecOps engineering practices.

• Experience establishing reusable engineering patterns, standards, automated controls, and deployment practices.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $93,000 - $109,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
