Core Responsibilities

  • Provide effective second-line credible challenge to business line fraud strategies, detection rules, controls, processes, and performance reporting through analytical deep dives and independent assessments.
  • Develop independent benchmarks, thresholds, segmentation frameworks, key risk indicators, and trend analyses to assess changes in fraud exposure, control effectiveness, customer outcomes, and loss performance.
  • Design and maintain transparent, repeatable, and auditable analytical methodologies, monitoring frameworks, and governance processes that can be independently validated, refreshed, and reproduced as new data becomes available.
  • Proactively identify emerging fraud threats, control weaknesses, and monitoring opportunities by sourcing and analyzing relevant data assets, developing actionable insights, and recommending risk mitigation actions to business and risk management stakeholders.
  • Assess the fraud risk implications of significant business, product, strategy, model, vendor, and technology changes through independent impact analyses and provide risk-based recommendations
  • Support strategic data and cloud modernization initiatives involving fraud analytics, monitoring solutions, reporting assets, and analytical controls, including migration to Databricks, Azure, cloud data platforms, and enterprise data domains.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than six years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in at least one analytical language or platform (SAS, SQL, Python, R, or similar), with the flexibility to learn new tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting findings to a business audience
  • Experience with fraud, scams, payments, claims, complaints, or operational risk data in financial services
  • Experience working with unstructured or free-text data and building categorization logic
  • Experience providing credible challenge or independent risk oversight
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools; interest in Databricks and cloud analytics platforms
