We are seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst to join a finance team supporting a global manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for someone who is highly analytical and can go beyond traditional accounting to tell the story behind the numbers.
The FP&A Analyst will partner closely with manufacturing operations, using financial and operational data to develop forecasts, analyze business performance, present KPIs, and provide insights that support key business decisions. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing FP&A experience and be comfortable working with P&L, balance sheets, Oracle, Smart View, and Excel.

Key Responsibilities (Day-to-Day)
- Lead P&L forecasting and related financial analysis.
- Work with P&L, balance sheet, and related financial statements.
- Use data to forecast future performance and support decision-making.
- Business Partnering with Operations
- Support operations with the financial perspective to help drive solid decisions.
- Tell the story behind the numbers to non-finance stakeholders.
- Translate conversations with customers and operations into forecast impacts and financial implications.
- Present on KPIs and explain what they mean for the business.
- Cost & Spend Analysis
- Perform cost–benefit analysis on initiatives and business decisions.
- Dig into expenses (e.g., vendor spend) to identify trends and opportunities:
- Help assess whether to negotiate better terms or consider alternatives.
- Data Extraction & Reporting
- Pull data from Oracle and Smart View to support analysis.
- Work heavily in Excel to manipulate, analyze, and present data.
- Use tools primarily to access and interpret data, not to build technical solutions.
- Learn the business in depth and continuously improve understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate closely with the finance team and operations as the finance of the future model rolls out.
- Participate in training for the new finance model alongside the manager.
Must-Have Requirements
Experience
- 5–10+ years of true FP&A experience (not just accounting).
- Strong exposure to:
- P&L and balance sheet
- Forecasting and forward-looking analysis
- Connecting accounting/transactional data to future outlooks
- Manufacturing industry experience (required), with understanding of:
- Basic manufacturing flows (e.g., prior/WIP/finished goods, items taken off the shelf and sold).
- Longevity in roles:
- Demonstrated multi-year tenure at each company (typically 3+ years per role).
- Not a pattern of frequent job-hopping (e.g., 2–3 month stints or a long list of short roles).
Tools & Systems
- Oracle – able to navigate and pull data.
- Smart View – able to access and use data through it.
- Excel – strong skills (the team “lives in Excel”).
