Jobbeschreibung

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Sr Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls.

As the Sr Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and reporting all AWS and data storage, data transmission, and other infrastructure support needed by the Leo hardware, software engineering and operations teams. You will have strong infrastructure cloud computing knowledge, experience with Capex allocation and Opex cost assignment, and a high capacity to learn. You will partner with business leaders to develop operating plans including capital investment and funding needed to build a global infrastructure network.

Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. You will collaborate with all types of stakeholders, from VPs and Directors to Program/Project Managers and other Finance Managers across multiple business units within Amazon.

You are comfortable leading analysis projects with high ambiguity, creating a robust process to track and manage the spending needs, presenting to business owners, and can pivot between the defined financial rhythms and ad-hoc project analyses. You use judgment to prioritize high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, while helping to solve complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.

  • Finance subject matter expert of Amazon Leo cloud computing consumption
  • Develop strong working relationships with AWS Infrastructure and Services teams, and Leo business partners

  • Build complex financial models that estimate Leo cloud computing costs and requirements in support of negotiations with AWS and B2B prospective customers. Partner with key Leo business partners to assess and bring creative ideas to reduce cloud computing costs
  • Develop and implement metrics to monitor, report and evaluate forecasts and actual usage (AWS, external) and capex investments including recommendations to business leadership to drive efficiencies and spending improvements
  • Develop and deliver accurate Operating Plans and Guidance R&Os and bring creative ideas to drive out costs
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities, work in an ambiguous business unit, and provide operations and investment guidance to the business partners based on data analysis
  • Uses active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjusts style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly

  • 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field
  • Can meet export control requirements by being a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
