Job summary

Assurant seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Business Finance team in New York. You will lead forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and strategic financial analysis that informs key business decisions and partnerships with finance, accounting, and business leaders.

You will build and maintain financial models, deliver executive-ready analyses, dashboards, and client-level reporting, and translate complex data into clear insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business finance, or related analytical role.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis capabilities.
• Ability to turn high volume, complex financial data into clear insights and actions.
• Experience with management reporting, dashboards, and presentations for senior leaders.
• Advanced Excel and experience with financial systems or BI tools.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL or similar BI tools.
• Strong communication and business partnering skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Overview of Position

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Financial Analyst to join our Business Finance team. In this role, you will help lead forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and strategic financial analysis that supports critical business decisions. You will partner closely with finance, accounting, and business leaders to deliver clear insights, improve performance visibility, and strengthen planning across the organization. What will my duties and responsibilities be in this job?

• Lead financial analysis and decision support for budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and business planning.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reviews, including executive-ready reports, dashboards, presentations and client level reporting.
• Perform variance analysis across actuals, plan, and forecast for key financial statement lines and metrics across Renters Solutions products and clients.
• Analyze financial and operational performance to identify drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Build and enhance financial models, scenarios, and business cases to support forecasting, strategic initiatives, and investment decisions.
• Partner with finance, accounting, and business leaders to align assumptions, improve visibility, and support decision-making.
• Support the annual budget, forecast updates, and ad hoc analysis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clarity.
• Maintain data integrity and reporting consistency while identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and analytical efficiency.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business finance, or a related analytical role.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to turn high volume, complex financial and operational data into clear insights, recommendations, and business actions.
• Experience preparing management reporting, dashboards, and presentations for senior leaders.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial systems, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL or similar analytics and business intelligence tools.
• Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or MBA.
• Experience with ERP or planning systems.
• Experience supporting strategic planning, investment analysis, or enterprise-wide business initiatives.
• Background partnering directly with senior business leaders on performance management and decision support.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, reporting, forecasting, or workflow efficiency.
• Thorough understanding of business issues and concepts related to insurance or financial services industry

Pay Range: $64,900.00 - $108,200.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
