Job summary

Vopak Terminal Deer Park Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team in a hybrid role based in Texas.

You will contribute to monthly closings, reporting, planning, and analysis across Vopak entities, with responsibilities for statutory reporting and audits. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in corporate finance, strong IFRS knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with Oracle Cloud and Tagetik.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CFA preferred.
• 5–7 years’ experience in company finance including accounting, reporting, consolidations, budgeting, payroll, tax and audits.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and statutory reporting experience.
• Expert Excel modeling and ability to analyze and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly internal financial reporting and analysis for Vopak entities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with annual external audits and internal control reviews (CRSA) and process improvements.
• Support insurance program management including renewals and claims.
• Assist payroll processing and intercompany invoicing; coordinate with Commercial and AR teams.
• Ensure governance documentation and data-driven improvements using automation.

Sr. Financial Analyst

Your Mission

Reporting to the Manager, Reporting and Compliance, the Sr. Financial Analyst , contributes to monthly financial closing, reporting, planning, and analysis of the business performance. This position will also have statutory reporting responsibilities for external and internal audit and income, sales, and property taxes.

What will you be doing?

• Abide by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participate in appropriate safety training; demonstrate commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values; champion safety as necessary.
• Responsible for monthly internal financial reporting and analysis of the Vopak book of companies, including journal entries, account research, and reconciliations of the income statement and balance sheet accounts.
• Track and report KPIs for balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in the annual Financial Audit with our external auditors, and annual internal CRSA (Controlled Risk Self-Assessment) and internal BPR (Business Process Review) programs.
• Assist accounting (global & local) and operations with internal and external financial and operational audits as required by various regulations and internal policies (including retirement plans administered by outside vendors).
• Assist in the management of the insurance program, including renewals, claims, audits, and risk engineering studies; submit claim notices to Global Insurance and Legal, and obtain COIs from brokers.
• Assist in the processing and administration of payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Monitor accounts receivable position and coordinate communications between Commercial, Customer Service, and Accounts Receivable departments.
• Review and track all Vopak intercompany invoices and shared internal allocations.
• Ensure accurate documentation and monitoring of corporate governance policies.
• Seek continuous improvement, in particular to optimize the usage of data, technology, and automation.
• Perform other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position.

Does this sound like you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferably Accounting). CPA or CFA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in company finance with extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting/analysis, consolidations reporting, budgeting, payroll, financial compliance, tax accounting, and auditing.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and statutory reporting.
• Strong modeling skills (Expert Excel user) and analytical abilities; able to plan, organize, set priorities, and multi-task.
• Independent, proactive, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud, Tagetik, and Google Workspace preferred.
• Excellent computer skills, including the ability to easily use MS Office suite, process flowchart software, and various reporting tools.
• Good understanding of reporting requirements for stand-alone audited reports (public reporting experience is a plus).
• In-depth knowledge of business, company policies, rules, regulations, processes, and procedures.
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Highly detail-oriented, customer‑focused, and capable of acting as a change agent.

Work Environment

Office staff only - does not go to terminal

This employee generally works in an office environment (currently 3 days in office and 2 days remote), away from extremes of cold or heat. Limited to no exposure to noise and vibrations other than normal daily office sounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee should not have regular exposure to fumes, odors, toxic conditions, dust, or poor ventilation.
