Job summary

Sunrun Installation Services Inc. is seeking a Field Performance Technician to manage service and warranty work within the Field Service team. You will coordinate with the Branch Manager, Electrical Foreman, and Construction Supervisor to allocate labor and monitor performance.

This role requires 1-3 years solar or field construction experience, a HS diploma, NEC knowledge, and strong communication. You will train teammates, conduct inspections, and uphold rooftop safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma is required; Journeyman license preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to train teammates and work as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, lead, and maintain the warranty and service schedule.
  • Coordinate labor resources with Foreman and Supervisor as needed.
  • Lead regular meetings to align and train the field service team.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Support inspections and site audits when assigned.

The Field Service / Field Performance Technician must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of the Performance O&M team. This position will interact closely with the customers, Branch Manager, the Senior Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the centralized scheduling Field Service Team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize, lead, and maintain the warranty and service schedule.Work with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the Branch Manager to allocate labor resources to service and warranty projects as neededAssist with training and development for Field Service Technicians and Field Communications Technicians.Lead regular meetings to align and train the local field service team on best practicesSupport the on-boarding and training of new members of the field performance teamRegularly exceed defined goals for field performance key performance indicators including but not limited to turnaround time, experience rating and average dispatches completedAssist with other tasks including inspections and site audits when assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE1 - 3 years of previous field construction or solar experience requiredPV design or PV electrical experience is preferredHigh School diploma is requiredLICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (include where appropriate)Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.Valid state or local Electrical Journeyman certification or license preferred. Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter. Understands basic construction principles.Safety: Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safelyCustomer Service: Ability to establish rapport, build relationships and loyalty with external and internal customers and coworkers, and remains tactful when communicatingResults Driven: Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics.
