Job summary

Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) is seeking an experienced Finance Leader to oversee all financial aspects of the Leonia, NJ manufacturing site. You will steward financial governance, partner with Factory leadership, and provide data-driven decision support on short-term and long-term initiatives.

Ensure NAS compliance and robust cost management across the plant. The role emphasizes cash flow management, reporting accuracy, budgeting, and a strategic lens on investments, with a focus on developing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of cost or general accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles in fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll, inventory control, financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of activity-based costing/management and factory management systems/tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a multi-faceted department.
  • Team player with leadership and self-direction.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead cost improvement opportunities and monitor savings.
  • Manage factory reporting of actuals and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic financial analysis for major decisions affecting the factory.
  • Drive business planning and budgeting with Factory/Corporate teams.
  • Develop and evaluate capital investment plans and post-CAPEX evaluations.

  • Transfer financial knowledge to non-specialists and conduct training sessions.
  • Coordinate compliance activities and prepare for internal/external audits.

POSITION SUMMARY

Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) is looking for an experienced and dynamic Finance Leader to oversee all financial aspects of our manufacturing site located in Leonia, NJ.

You will be responsible for being the steadfast custodian of stewardship and governance for the facility. Trusted co-pilot to the Factory Manager and Factory Leadership Teams with direct dialogue with the Operations Controller for NHSc US. Accountable for all factory financial matters (vision, organization, practices, initiatives/projects) and provide fact-based decision making on both short-term objectives and on long-term strategic initiatives. Provide visibility and forecasts around costs related to the factory processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting (monitoring of the budget and controlling the variances), ensures Compliance to financial legal requirements and Nestle Accounting Standards (NAS).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
Cash Flow & Continuous Improvement -

Identify, drive and deliver cost improvement opportunities, be an active contributor to improvement projects and initiatives, validate, review and track proposed savings. Challenge assumptions for cost improvements in factory based on internal and external benchmark information on factory performance and costs. Actively drive improvement activities within the factory and ensure activities are in alignment with business Operational Master Plan.

Reporting and Analytics -

Manage and interpret factory reporting of actuals and forecasts for the factory and key outside stakeholders; ensure transparency, accuracy and timeliness of this process; follow up and monitoring of progress to close gaps, ensuring Nestlé financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards are followed by promoting ownership of data at source.

Strategic Evaluations -

Identify and lead strategic financial analysis relating to major or strategic decisions related to the factory to ensure full transparency of costs and non-financial implications.

Business Planning -

Drive business planning; manage the overall factory budget with factory management team as well as being the critical liaison between factory and Corporate/Commercial Teams in the business planning process. Perform forecasts, revisions or simulations if needed.

Capital Investments -

Develop, control and ensure robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests including post CAPEX evaluations

Internal Controls -

Ensure clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation and compliance with internal controls in all areas. Accountable for Segregation of Duties (SODs) and assessment of compensating control effectiveness. This includes establishing a solid and periodic monitoring of the internal controls effectiveness and appropriately escalating business risks.

Performance Management, Development and Talent -

Coach and develop the factory personnel with focus on finance individuals & team including career and succession planning. Ensure factory finance personnel are meeting/exceeding performance expectations.

Knowledge Transfer -

Drive clear understanding of financial key figures, costing and business impact within and outside the factory, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists.

Compliance -

Manage routine audit activities within the factory to ensure compliance on critical areas eg. NAS, Costing Standards, statutory accounting/tax, OPEX guideline and appropriately escalating business risks. As the Champion of compliance & risk management for the site is the key contact for internal and external audits within the factory.

Perform other duties as assigned
Safety and Environmental -
  • Follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets
  • Follow the plant safety rules; report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
  • Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)
Quality -
  • Follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets
  • Follow Nestlé Good Manufacturing Practices; report food safety and quality issues immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to Nestlé Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.
  • Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.

Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintains a focus on continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of cost or general accounting experience. Preferred experience at a factory/operational level.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles in fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll, inventory control, financial reporting and general accounting.
  • Knowledge of activity-based costing/management and factory management systems/tools.
  • Basic understanding of information systems function.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to manage a multi-faceted department.
  • Ability to work well with all employees.
  • Must be a team player, have strong project leadership skills as well as be self-directed.

The approximate pay range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
