Job summary

Constellation Energy Corp. in Maryland seeks a seasoned Facilities Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial building systems. Under minimal supervision, you will perform repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection equipment, and support BMCS operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with electrical systems up to 600V, adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, and collaboration with engineers to plan improvements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 6+ years in facilities maintenance including equipment repair.
• Overtime, weekend, shift, and call-in work may be required.
• Experience in industrial/power plant environments and basic radiation safety training may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Replaces failed building systems and components as required.
• Performs safety lockout and electrical work up to 600V, 3 phase.
• Ensures compliance with EPA, state inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
• Operates Building Management Control System (BMCS).
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC and electrical equipment.
• Contacts vendors to order materials and services.
• Inspects contractor work for specifications compliance.
• Coordinates with contractors to support work activities.
• Reports job status and oversees payments to contractors.
• Prepares labor and cost estimates for repair and installation work.
• Collaborates with engineers and supervision to plan improvements to existing equipment.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under minimal supervision, works independently to diagnose trouble, make repair decisions, and perform repairs to commercial and industrial air conditioning and heating, plumbing, electrical and fire protection equipment and minor structural systems. Performs the more complex repairs/diagnostics.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.) Replaces failed building systems and/or components as required. 2.) Provides safety lockout and works on electrical systems up to and including 600V, 3 Phase. 3.) Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, such as EPA and State Inspectors. 4.) Operates Building management Control System (BMCS). 5.) Performs preventive maintenance on Facilities HVAC and electrical equipment. 6.) Contacts vendors to order materials and services. 7.) Inspects contractor's work for compliance with specifications. 8.) Responsible for calling in contractors to support work activities, as needed. 9.) Reports job status to determine payments to contractors. 10.) Prepares labor and cost estimates on repair and installation work. 11.) Works with engineers and supervision to recommend, plan and perform changes and improvements to existing equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent and over six years work experience in facilities related maintenance work including equipment repair or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience. Other: 1.) Subject to overtime, weekend work, shift work, and call-in as required. 2.) Works at heights to 50 feet. 3.) Works with acids, vapors, and other chemical liquids in systems up to 1,500-psig pressure. 4.) Works in industrial, power plant and nuclear plant environments. 5.) Must satisfactorily complete radiation safety training, including respirator qualifications. Disclaimer: May perform other duties as assigned.
