Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to lead accurate, competitive estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from bid through project handoff. You will develop estimates for treatment facilities, pump stations, and process piping; perform takeoffs; evaluate constructability, risks, and cost; and support buyout and handoff to operations.

The role requires a civil eng/related degree, experience with self-performed work, and proficiency in tools

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read plans, specifications and contract documents.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Experience with estimating software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.
