Description

Join us as we redefine the future of physical retail! Our goal is to be Earth's most customer-centric company and we're just getting started. We are looking for people who want to join a newly developing business unit full of ambitious and driven professionals that continue to push the boundaries of reality and improve the daily lives of our customers.

This team is seeking a multi-disciplinary Engineering Standards Program Manager with expertise in MEP, Refrigeration, and Control systems who will manage the building systems engineering standards for developing prototypes and ongoing construction projects. This position will serve as a department expert and act as a "bridge" between the department and the broader organization. The position requires strong working knowledge in a wide variety of building types and systems (both the design of such systems and also installation and maintenance).

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who is energized by building structure where there is ambiguity, who can translate complex technical requirements into clear standards, and who thrives in an organization where influence matters more than authority.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own MEP/R, FP engineering design standards.
  • Establish and maintain standards with cross-functional partners, including basis of design (BOD) for technical disciplines to meet company criteria and cost targets.
  • Manage equipment specifications and design coordination.
Technical Innovation & Cost Management
  • Execute MEP/R cost reduction, energy conservation, and sustainability goals.
  • Lead technical innovation initiatives for building systems and quality control.
Consultant & Vendor Management
  • Cultivate relationships with 3P engineering consultants and manage production of engineering documents.
  • Track consultant quality and cost, own relationships with MEP/R, Low Voltage, Structural, and Controls consultants, and manage commissioning standards.
Quality Assurance & Technical Support
  • Conduct site inspections and facility audits. Provide technical expertise to Pre-Construction, Design, Construction, Facilities, and Operations teams.
  • Support preventative maintenance SOPs and partner with Facilities to ensure systems align with established standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as SME for MEP/R and Controls topics.
  • Work cross-functionally to share best practices, provide engineering solutions for site-specific designs, and review construction documents for accuracy and cost targets.
  • Proven ability to efficiently plan and prioritize deliverables and resources across multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to make creative design recommendations and articulate technical justification to diverse stakeholders
A day in the life

You will partner with 3P engineering consultants to develop programmatic MEP/R design guardrails and articulate design justification to different groups within the organization. You will value-engineer MEPR systems and reduce overall program costs while ensuring the customer experience is not affected. You will attend meetings as required to address specific issues, make decisions and find solutions quickly and with confidence. You will take ownership of your work, display a great deal of initiative, and exercise sound judgment.
