Job summary

Qualifications

  • Six Sigma or lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership for hourly production employees.
  • Drive accountability for operational performance and policy compliance.
  • Communicate plant priorities, performance metrics, and shift expectations.
  • Use RCA, engineering practices, and process data to resolve issues and improve reliability, capability, quality, uptime, and line utilization.
  • Identify and teach critical product characteristics; develop systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Support product trials and analyze process performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct process audits, implement corrective actions, and resolve process shifts, upsets, and quality complaints.
  • Optimize processes to reduce waste, eliminate variation, improve reliability, and meet specs at lowest cost.
  • Implement and audit Operator Control Plans, critical task processes, and process control training.
  • Partner with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and identify needed capital improvements.

The Process Engineer ensures the product meets customer needs. This position is responsible for initiating and implementing technical improvements, preventing and resolving technical problems, and assessing the capabilities of the processes. The process engineer will provide all aspects of technical leadership in the improvement of manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment efficiencies, and product quality.

Reports to : Operations Leader

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lives the Safety Stand, Adheres to Safety Responsibilities, & Consistently Drives to a Safer Workplace
  • Constantly work to ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to OC safety policies
  • Drive the execution of regular safety requirements – Monthly participation, BBS, JHAs, Hazard Identification, safe work permits, reporting of near misses, safety inspections, etc.
  • Effectively communicate Owens Corning’s stand on safety throughout the Operations Department to ensure employees believe in and behave in a manner that supports our stand: all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone’s responsibility, and that working safely is a condition of employment at Owens Corning

Process Improvement & Control
  • Conduct process audits, implement corrective actions, and resolve process shifts, upsets, and quality complaints.
  • Optimize processes to reduce waste, eliminate variation, improve reliability, and meet specifications at the lowest cost.
  • Implement and audit Operator Control Plans, critical task processes, and process control training.
  • Partner with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and identify needed capital improvements.
Talent Development & Cross-Functional Support
  • Coach, mentor, and develop frontline employees and team leads
  • Partnering with employees to develop and implement Operator Control Plans
  • Conduct performance reviews, performance coaching, and development planning.
  • Support onboarding, training, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Foster an engaged workforce through open communication, accountability, and recognition.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, leadership, and support functions.
  • Provides leadership to equipment operators, maintenance technicians, and production technicians on the manufacturing process and process control procedures.
TPM & Operational Excellence
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Drive TPM initiatives and support operational excellence programs.
  • Utilize data analytics and KPIs to evaluate performance and identify opportunities.
  • Serve as a change agent to implement sustainable improvements across the operation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and influencing others in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE :
  • Six Sigma or lean manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge and experience in project management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
  • Strong leadership and people-development capabilities.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and execute strategic and operational plans.
  • Strong communication, listening, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
