Daikin Applied Americas Inc. in Staunton, VA is seeking a Sr. Engineering Operations Manager to lead the Compressor business unit, driving product and process improvements and mentoring staff to deliver projects.

The role requires designing and guiding engineering initiatives, budgeting awareness, and partnering with management to align technical direction with customer needs. On-site work in Staunton supports a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
• 10+ years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
• 6+ years of people leadership experience.
• Understanding of mechanical components for rotating machinery.

Responsibilities

• Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
• Set priorities and reconcile directions from competing interests.
• Resolve problems using solutions involving new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
• Analyze technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
• Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Forecast operating costs of department and direct preparation of budget requests.
• Advise management of new developments affecting profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and inter-departmental relations.
• Provide direction and examples for the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to engineering activities.
• Develop standards and guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of new technologies to improve operations and safety compliance.

The Sr. Engineering Operations Manager will provide leadership for the Compressor business unit by helping to set the direction for product and process improvements and by motivating their staff to accomplish project assignments. Your Responsibilities

• Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.

• Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials or other organizations and companies for purposes of discussion and negotiation on critical issues.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of related manufacturing engineering experience
• Understanding of mechanical components for rotating machinery
• 6+ years of people leadership experience

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $126,100-$221,900 + 25% bonus in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
