Job summary

Target is seeking a Sr UI Engineer to design, code and maintain guest‑facing web and mobile applications, collaborating with design, research and analytics to elevate digital experiences.

You will work across the SDLC, build reusable components, and stay current with industry trends while partnering with internal stakeholders on rich, interactive features.

Qualifications

• Eight plus years of full‑stack development experience.
• Strong foundation in HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
• Experience with CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS and frameworks such as Foundation or Bootstrap.
• Knowledge of AJAX, and JS frameworks (AngularJS/React/Ember) or JS build tools (Grunt/Gulp/Bower).
• Experience with RESTful services, CRUD and server‑side languages and databases.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and support web and mobile apps for internal teams and guests.
• Build reusable components and libraries for scalable products.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ideate and deliver rich interactive UI features.
• Maintain and improve existing platforms and services throughout the SDLC.

The pay range is $98,000.00 - $176,000.00

About You

• Four year degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years full-stack development
• Experience with web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g. Sass or LESS) and CSS frameworks (e.g. Foundation or Bootstrap)
• Working knowledge of AJAX and JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, React, or Ember etc., or JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp, and Bower, as well as libraries like jQuery or Backbone.js
• Back-End experience in API design and development
• Familiar with CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) methodology
• Experience with RESTful Services Deep knowledge of server-side languages (e.g.PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, and .Net), database technologies (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and web server technologies (e.g. Node.js, J2EE, Apache, Nginx, ISS)
• Knowledge of frameworks related to their server-side language of choice like: Express.js, Ruby on Rails, CakePHP, etc.
• Quick learner, Flexible and open to change
• Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audience
• Ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas to stakeholder and partners
