Job summary

Motorola Solutions is hiring a Sr Engineer for Systems Design & Implementation to lead complex public safety software deployments, including body cameras, in-car video, and digital evidence management. You will bridge high-level design with on-site deployment, ensuring secure wireless integration and safe, effective command center operations.

You will own technical solutions, drive customer discovery sessions, and coordinate across sales, PM, engineering, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Public Safety software application system implementation experience
• Bachelor-level degree or higher in engineering, IT, public safety or military fields
• Experience with TCP/IP networking and systems engineering
• Ability to obtain background clearance for government customers

Responsibilities

• Implement body cameras, in-car video systems, digital evidence management and real-time command center software
• Serve as the technical solution owner for projects
• Provide system as-built documentation
• Identify interface requirements and coordinate design with implementation teams
• Conduct customer discovery sessions for system configuration
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with sales, PMs, engineering, product and subject-matter experts
• Provide customer product training (in-person and virtual)
• Survey, design, install, and maintain wireless infrastructure at client sites

Department Overview

The System Design & Implementation Team is a segment of Motorola Solutions' Video business. Our team focuses on designing, and deploying body cameras, in-car video systems, and digital evidence management systems (backend software) for Government and Public Safety customers.

Job Description

The Sr Engineer - Systems Design & Implementation will serve as the primary technical leader and solution owner for the implementation of complex public safety software, including body cameras, in-car video, and real-time command center systems. This role requires an expert engineer who can bridge the gap between high-level system design and on-site deployment, ensuring seamless integration of wireless infrastructure and evidence management solutions for our critical public safety clients.

Responsibilities:

• Implement body cameras, in-car video systems, digital evidence management systems, and real time command center software.




• Responsible for being the technical solution owner of a project.




• Provide system as-built documentation.




• Identify interface requirements and solicit system implementation team for design




• Conduct customer facing technical requirements discovery sessions for system configuration (Conference Call or In Person)




• Builds relationships with sales, project managers, internal engineering, product, and key technical subject matter expert teams within the organization




• Ability to provide customer product training (both in‑person and virtual)




• Survey, design, install and maintain the infrastructure supporting wireless communications systems at Client site

Requirements:

• 4+ years of Public Safety software application system implementation experience




• Computer hardware sizing, configuration and implementation experience




• TCP/IP computer networking and design experience (wired and wireless)




• Ability to pass a background check and/or security clearance for a customer as necessary




• LTE Network Modem/Router background




• Technical writing experience and the ability to deliver technical information to a nontechnical audience




• Basic knowledge of Radio Voice Communications Networks




• Basic knowledge of Motorola Solutions Public Safety Applications




• Knowledge of Public Safety operations




• This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's \"Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy\" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - 100,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of Engineering, IT, Public Safety, and/or Military experience OR 8+ years of Engineering, IT, Public Safety, and/or Military experience




• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.




• Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
