Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Malta, NY is seeking professionals to support state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing. The role centers on owning process integration of semiconductor devices and driving improvements in yield, Cp/Cpk, electrical performance, and defectivity.

The candidate will lead a technology module from development through production, manage experiments, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize quality, cost, and delivery while advancing emerging silicon photonics

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s and/or PhD with desired major in technology-related field (Photonics, Optics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microsystems, Physics, Materials Science).
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
• Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the 45nm Silicon Photonics technology product ramp from development through mature production.
• Maintain ownership of a technology module, including prioritizing projects and leading experiment definition and hardware disposition.
• Develop and qualify silicon photonics process flows and integrations to meet product performance, reliability, and defectivity requirements.
• Monitor line performance through data analysis and collaborate cross-functionally to improve yield and reduce costs.

Summary of Role

Our Quantum Technology Solutions group is seeking professionals to support state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities include owning process integration of semiconductor devices and driving improvements in areas such as yield, Cp/Cpk, electrical performance, and defectivity. The team also develops new and emerging technologies through experimentation and data analysis, with a focus on optimizing quality, cost, and delivery.

Essential Responsibilities Include

• Own and drive the success of the 45nm Silicon Photonics technology product ramp from development through mature production
• Maintain full ownership of a technology module, including prioritizing projects, delegating tasks, and leading experiment definition and hardware disposition
• Develop and qualify silicon photonics process flows and integrations to meet product performance, reliability, and defectivity requirements
• Monitor line performance through data analysis, resolve issues quickly, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve yield, reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and support customer engagement

Required Qualifications

• Education - Graduating with Masters and/or PhD with desired major of technology-related degree: Photonics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microsystems, Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or other related engineering physical science disciplines.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior related internship or co-op experience.
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organizational skills
• Exposure to Silicon Photonics (through academic or hands-on experience), with a strong foundation in semiconductor processing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including knowledge of SPC, DOE, and Lean Manufacturing principles

Expected Salary Range

$69,000.00 - $120,000.00 The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
