Job summary

Have you seen press releases from Seagate about the latest state-of-the-art Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR)? This team contributes to the head and disk design for making large capacity disk drives with this latest technology - Design verification, failure analysis, problem solving, data analysis and hands on lab measurements. Very fast-paced environment with many challenging opportunities.

About the role - you will:

• Optimize the head/disk electrical interface.
• Bench level testing of hard drives.
• Analyze large data sets of hard drive parametrics.
• Work both independently and with a team.

About you:

• You are a proficient experimentalist.
• You have the ability to process and analyze large data sets.
• You are willing to learn.
• You can work in a self-directed manner.
• You can communicate complex technical concepts concisely.

Your experience includes:

• Phd in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science.
• You are familiar with magnetic principles.
• You have hands on failure analysis skills.
• Familiar with oscilloscopes and lab equipment.
• Some lab equipment experience.
• Programming experience: You can program in Python or Matlab.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $94,140.00 - $135,00.00. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
