Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a senior energy infrastructure professional to design and deliver commercial and technical strategies for its energy value chain.

You will developVision, strategy, and execution plans for electricity infrastructure, while collaborating with utilities, regulators and partner teams to enable reliable and cost-efficient energy solutions. The role requires deep expertise in power markets, contracting, and project management across large-scale infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business or technical field
  • 7+ years in utility/energy in a commercial/technical role
  • 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US energy markets with financial modeling
  • 2+ years managing multiple million-dollar power infrastructure contracts with external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Think strategically to develop the Vision, Strategy and Execution plan of what the future looks like for energy value chains.
  • Collaborate with utilities, contractors and internal teams to drive projects to completion and ensure safety, cost efficiency and reliability.

A day in the life

Think like a group CEO of Generation, transmission, distribution and backup power companies. We are the ones who are developing the Vision, Strategy and Execution plan of what the future looks like and helping every one in the Energy Value chain to do things differently.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required in Engineering/Business or other technical field
  • 7+ years working in utility/energy industry in a commercial/business development or technical role
  • 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US (e.g. PJM & MISO) energy markets, performing financial models and analysis on rates and energy cost, negotiation interconnection agreements and related contracts with utilities and contractors
  • 2+ years managing multiple million dollar power infrastructure contracts with external stakeholders to drive projects to completion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree (MBA) preferred
  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Experience planning, engineering, developing or constructing substations or other 34.5kV or greater energy infrastructure
  • Experience evaluating and implementing innovative infrastructure and operational strategies within the energy sector, such as energy storage, demand response, fuel cells, etc.
  • Experience working directly with public utility commissions and other energy regulators
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services
