Job summary

Revolution Technologies is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer for a long-term contract in the Providence, RI area. You will design bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M, develop low‑level drivers, and optimize performance within power and memory constraints.

You will collaborate with hardware and systems teams, support debugging and testing, and work fully onsite in the Providence, RI / southeastern Massachusetts region. DoD Secret clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Strong embedded firmware development experience
• Strong C programming experience
• Experience with bare-metal embedded development
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M and/or similar microcontroller architectures
• Experience developing low-level device drivers and hardware interfaces
• Active DoD Secret security clearance
• Ability to work fully onsite in the Providence, RI / southeastern Massachusetts area

Responsibilities

• Design and implement bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontroller architectures
• Develop drivers and low-level interfaces for SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC, PWM and timer modules
• Profile and optimize embedded code for performance, power consumption and memory constraints
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects and other engineering teams to translate requirements into firmware solutions
• Support firmware debugging, integration and testing
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, SWD/JTAG debuggers and embedded testing tools as needed

This position is fully onsite in the Providence, RI / southeastern Massachusetts area.

An active Secret clearance required.

Must be on our W2 only for this long-term contract role.

• Design and implement bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontroller architectures
