Packaging Corporation of America in Virginia is seeking a Sr. Electrical Project Engineer at the Gladstone Riverville Mill.

You will lead engineering services for maintenance, create preventive and predictive maintenance plans, and manage project scope, schedule, and cost from conception through start-up. Strong candidates will have a BS in Electrical Engineering and 10–15 years in process engineering or production in the paper industry, excellent communication, and teamwork; U.S.

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance procedures to ensure equipment availability and uptime goals.
• Prepare scope and cost estimates for assigned projects and manage project scope, schedule and cost.
• Coordinate project commissioning and start-up and communicate status to operations and maintenance.

We are seeking resumes for a Sr. Electrical Project Engineer at our Gladstone, VA Riverville Mill.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering services to maintenance and operating department personnel as required to resolve maintenance, technical, and equipment reliability issues.
• Establish and maintain safe work practices and safe work environment for coworkers and employees.
• Be sure that mill rules are enforced and that company policies are followed.
• Supervise mill and contract employees as required.
• Ensure that equipment files and databases are maintained properly and understand equipment operation and function as required to determine preventive and predictive maintenance needs.
• Develop preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures as required to ensure equipment availability.
• Work with peers to effectively maintain equipment to achieve uptime goals as set by the department.
• Prepare scope and cost estimate for assigned projects.
• Develop an engineering, procurement and construction strategy for each project.
• Design and implement approved projects.
• Monitor and control project scope, schedule and cost.
• Manage project construction.
• Coordinate project commissioning and start-up.
• Communicate project status to operation and maintenance.
• Provide technical assistance to operations and maintenance to identify and solve routine problems.
• Other duties assigned by Engineering Manager.

Basic Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

• Applicants must have 10-15 years’ experience in process engineering or production in the paper industry

• Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow up skills.
• Demonstrated skills in setting priorities and delegating, analytical problem solving, and facilitating in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be able to function and contribute within a team environment.
• Must be authorized to work in U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pulp and paper experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary range for position: $96 - 120K.
• Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
• Paid Holidays.
• Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
• Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
