Job summary

Aerospace Company in Torrance, CA, seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead design, development and implementation of advanced electrical systems for electric aircraft and eVTOL programs. This role oversees cross-functional teams and guides project execution with a focus on high-reliability power electronics.

You will manage requirements, DO-178B/DO-160 knowledge, and hands-on BOM generation for PBAs, driving performance and compliance while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or equivalent is required.
• Typically 12+ years working with circuit design, integration, and test experience.
• U.S. Person (US citizen or Resident Alien) for export compliance.

• Complete assignments by applying electrical engineering methodsGenerate Bill-of-Materials (BOMs) for Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs)
• Leverage knowledge of circuit design, circuit simulation, and analysis
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems/failures uncovered by circuit card tests
• Prepare investigation and test results to document findings

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or equivalent
• Typically 12+ years working with circuit design, integration, and test experience
• U.S. Person (US citizen or Resident Alien Green Card) for export compliance

WE VALUE

• Experience with MentorGraphics DxDesigner, LTspice, Simulink, MATLAB, PSIM or equivalent circuit design toolset
• Analog circuit design experience and standard lab equipment (meters, probes, etc.)
• High-power power electronics design for inverters
• Ability to produce white papers to document investigation findings, test results, and outcomes of trade studies
• Knowledge of obsolescence parts replacement, identification of substitute parts, and making board-level drawing changes
• Experience with circuit design, circuit simulation, and analysis at a level required for fault isolation and hands-on troubleshooting
• Familiarity with aircraft/aerospace test standards, such as DO-178B, DO-160, or DO-254
