Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer in Data Center Engineering to help design, plan, deliver, and operate AWS infra across global data centers. You’ll produce design docs, safeguard BoD standardization, and drive strategic, budget-conscious electrical solutions.

You will collaborate with teams across AWS, engage vendors, review energy efficiency, and contribute to sustainability initiatives while supporting growth and reliability for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil & gas).
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
• 6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports.
• Understand and safeguard implementation of the Global Electrical Basis of Design by driving standardization in the data center electrical designs.
• Development of strategic solutions that meet quality requirements within budget; translate goals into specs and solutions.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during innovation and development projects.
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
