Job summary

FAAC Incorporated in Mesa, AZ seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to lead design and testing of complex electrical systems interfacing with military platforms. You will design CCAs and PCBs, architect hardware for ICE products, and document hardware I/O requirements while collaborating across disciplines.

The role requires 6+ years in electrical/computer engineering (or 9+ years with an Associate degree) and extensive PCB/ECAD experience, plus familiarity with UART/SPI/I2C/USB/TCP-IP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; alternative with experience considered.
• 6+ years in electrical/computer engineering or 9+ years with Associate degree.
• Extensive PCB design experience with major ECAD tools required.
• Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, USB, TCP/IP and related protocols.

Overview

We are seeking a talented and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mesa, AZ. In this role, you will leverage your engineering expertise to lead, design and complex electrical systems that interface with military platforms including aircraft. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems consisting of CCAs and printed circuit boards.
• Architect, design, develop, debug, deploy, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware for new and existing ICE products.
• Determine and document hardware and data input/output and system requirements.
• Test and install embedded software and firmware.
• Evaluate system and software designs, equipment, and techniques and make recommendations for design improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
• Support the documentation process, including specifications, test plans, and reports.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
• 6+ years experience in electrical/computer engineering; or
• Associates degree and 9+ years electronic design experience may substitute Bachelor's degree.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing printed circuit boards using a professional ECAD platform such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Siemens Xpedition/PADS Professional, or Zuken CR-8000 is required.
• Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP, RS-485, etc.) required.
• Must be able to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams and to organize and prioritize tasks and activities.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.
