Job summary

Quest Global in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced display validation engineer to join our product development team. You will validate wearable display technologies and work with tier-1 customers during the NPI phase.

You will design test specs, lead validation, and generate reports, using DSI/MIPI and LCD/LCOS/Micro-OLED knowledge. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics and 3-5 years of system validation experience.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and optical schematics.
Experience specifying test specs and test equipment for validation testing.
Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to document technical information clearly.
Experience with display interfaces DSI/MIPI, eDP.

Responsibilities

System level display validation for various display types (monocular, binocular, LCD/LCOS/Micro-OLED) and optical components.
Lead validation of the wearable with display product line.
Develop and document test equipment and procedures for validation testing.
Create comprehensive test specifications, manage test plans, and provide feedback to teams.
Hands-on testing of display systems including optical design, assembly, and data collection.
Generate test reports with data-driven insights and interpretations.
Troubleshoot display-related issues with hardware/software teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to validate feature updates.
Utilize color analyzers, colorimeters, and Radiant Vision tools for validation.
Stay current with display tech to improve wearable product performance.

Work Experience

We are looking for an experienced display validation engineer to join our product development support team. You will be working closely with our tier 1 customer in NPI phase validating wearable products incorporating leading edge display technologies

What You Will Do

System level display validation of different display types such monocular, binocular, LCD/LCOS/Mico-OLED electronics and their optical components
Lead the validation of the wearable w/display product line.
Devise and build capabilities for display functional validation using measurable display systems/user level specifications. Define, specify and document the required test equipment and procedures required for validation testing.
Develop comprehensive display system and sub-system level test specifications, manage and execute test plans, and provide feedback to development teams
Hands‑on testing for display systems, including optical design, test assembly and alignment, scripting for automated data collection and processing.
Generate informative test reports that include data and analysis with insights into the data's interpretation.
Identify and troubleshoot display‑related issues, working closely with the hardware and software teams to narrow down the problems
Work closely with cross‑functional team members and clients to produce high quality engineering solutions to root‑causes and support validation of feature updates.
Skilled in display validation tools such as color analyzers, colorimeters, Radiant camera, etc.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in display technology and apply this knowledge to improve the performance of our wearable products

Required Skills And Experience

What You Will Bring

Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics (EE) and/or training in Display/Optics with 3-5 years of experience in System Validation role for consumer electronics or related field
Skilled in reading and interpreting electric, electronic, and optical system drawings and schematics
Ability to specify test specs and test equipment needed for proper validation testing
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical personnel.
Experience in technical documentation and report generation.
Experience with display interfaces DSI/MIPI, eDP.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in EE or degree with emphasis on display technologies and testing methods.
Embedded Electronics system validation for the display/optic applications
LCOS/Micro-OLED Optical product validation experience preferred (Radiant Vision etc.)
Experience with test software programming, Python, C++, and DRY techniques

Pay Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 yearly

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on‑site position located in Sunnyvale, CA. You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
