Slack is seeking a Sr. Director of Engineering to lead a high-impact engineering organization within our platform.

This leader will own technical strategy, execution, and team health for Slack, partnering closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional leadership to deliver reliable, scalable experiences for millions of users. About the Role

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles managing managers.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, distributed systems at consumer or enterprise SaaS scale.
• Strong technical judgement: able to go deep on architecture and design when needed, while empowering teams to own execution.
• Experience partnering with Product/Design at the executive level to shape roadmap and strategy.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing, diverse engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity for others.

The typical base salary range for this position is $257,500 - $451,700 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $310,200 - $496,400 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
