Job summary

Centauri Health Solutions, Inc seeks a Senior Director of Software Engineering who will lead architecture, strategy, and delivery across platform teams. You will shape scalable cloud-based solutions and guide multi-disciplinary engineers toward excellence.

You’ll mentor directors, managers, and individual contributors, champion DevSecOps, and align technology with Centauri’s healthcare data initiatives, HL7, FHIR, JSON/XML interoperability, and core product goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 years technology application, database, or systems development experience.
• 5 years’ experience leading or managing software engineering professionals and teams.
• Ability to develop strategic, rational solutions to highly complex technology architecture challenges driven by rapid acquisitions.
• Strong ability to develop scalable applications, cloud solutions and platforms, and middleware solutions that allow for rapid scale and integration of highly complex environments.
• Very strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with ability to teach and coach these skills to team leaders and members.
• Very strong soft-skills including negotiation skills, communication skills, and strong ability to de-escalate in a fast paced environment.
• Strong coaching and personal development skills and strong interest in developing high functioning teams.
• Strong knowledge and ability to learn new technologies focusing on GCP serverless and data technologies.
• Enterprise and system architecture patterns and development techniques.
• Required understanding and ability to learn quickly the environment and standards driving Centauri cata, clinical, and interoperability platforms and applications.
• Familiarity working in healthcare data integration and interoperability and its common technologies using HL7, IHE, FHIR, JSON, XML, or other related integration protocols or interoperability toolsets.
• Knowledge of best practices around systems development Dev/Sec/Ops and deployment at scale
• Strong cloud and data engineering knowledge.
• Experience managing Director, Manager, and Individual Contributor level software engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develops long-term technical vision and strategy for assigned product areas.
• Drive Enterprise and Solution architecture function and team members to establish highly scalable software platforms designed to scale for unforeseen growth.
• Drive best practices for development, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Enhance Centauri serverless, application, database, and systems development standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Drive Software Development functions including leading Directors, Managers, and Individual Contributors within these functions. Driving in this role means ensuring Agile Development teams and professionals are adhering to Centauri development standards and best practices, are all highly functioning team members and teams, and are optimally delivering against individual product or service line strategies.
• Responsible for hiring, firing, career development, and promotion of team members within the Software Engineering function, in close partnership with delivery and business service lines.

Your Daily Mission

This role drives the leadership, management, and development of Centauri’s Software Engineering function. Software Engineering includes Solution and System Architecture, Application Development, Database Development, and Systems Development (middleware, services, etc.) across multiple technologies and platforms. This role is focused on architecture as well as team and resource development, ensuring Centauri’s Software Engineering teams and individuals perform at the highest level, adhere to all Centauri technology standards and best practices, possess all relevant skills and experience required to meet technology delivery requirements, and possess required soft skills to contribute to a strong team environment. The role requires strategic knowledge of Centauri’s lines of business and business partners and products and alignment with the company’s goals. Similarly, the role includes developing deep understanding of Software Engineering team members’ desired career paths, skills, strengths, weaknesses, and experience and developing creating development programs to ensure highest performance.
