Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. seeks a Senior Director, IT Data Analytics to define and execute the organization's data analytics strategy, enabling data-driven decisions and growth.

You will lead enterprise analytics, BI, governance, and reporting, partnering with senior leaders to transform data into actionable insights. Position requires 15+ years in data analytics with 7+ years in leadership, strong SQL and BI tool expertise, and a proven track record in enterprise data architecture and governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, BI, data science, reporting.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing analytics, BI, or data management teams.
  • Proven experience developing and executing enterprise-wide analytics and data strategies in a global organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through analytics and insights.
  • Strong expertise with BI/visualization platforms and SQL, data modeling, warehousing, ETL, and enterprise data architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and delivery of BI, reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
  • Establish KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks to drive performance.

  • Lead initiatives involving predictive analytics, ML, and AI.
  • Oversee data governance, quality, management, and security.
  • Collaborate on data architecture, warehousing, integration, and analytics platforms.
  • Promote self-service analytics and data literacy across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing analytics and BI team.
  • Manage priorities, budgets, vendors, and project portfolios for impact.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to improve analytics capabilities.

Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Senior Director, IT Data Analytics you will be responsible for defining and executing the organization's data analytics strategy to enable data-driven decision-making, improve business performance, and support strategic growth objectives. This role leads enterprise analytics, business intelligence, data governance, and reporting capabilities while partnering with senior leaders across the organization to transform data into actionable insights.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Develop and execute the enterprise data analytics strategy aligned with business objectives and long-term organizational goals.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of business intelligence, reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and reporting frameworks that drive business performance and operational excellence.
  • Partner with executive leadership and functional leaders to identify opportunities for leveraging data and analytics to improve decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by providing strategic insights, trend analysis, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Lead enterprise initiatives involving predictive analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other advanced analytical capabilities.
  • Oversee data governance, data quality, data management, and data security initiatives to ensure the integrity, consistency, and accessibility of organizational data.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology and business teams on data architecture, data warehousing, data integration, and analytics platform strategies.
  • Drive adoption of self-service analytics capabilities and promote data literacy across the organization.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of analytics, business intelligence, and data management professionals.
  • Manage analytics priorities, resources, budgets, vendor relationships, and project portfolios to ensure successful execution and measurable business impact.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve analytics capabilities and organizational effectiveness.
Skills You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, reporting, or related disciplines. 7+ years of leadership experience managing analytics, business intelligence, or data management teams. Proven experience developing and executing enterprise-wide analytics and data strategies in a complex, global organization. Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership to influence business decisions through analytics and insights. Advanced experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Grafana or similar technologies. Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, ETL processes, and enterprise data architecture.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range: $200,400.00 - 334,000.00 USD Annual per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].

This position is HYBRID and within commutable distance to our location in Andover, MA. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
