Job summary

Macy’s is seeking a Senior Director, Customer Fulfillment Center in Columbus to lead goods‑to‑person fulfillment operations, set strategy, and drive performance across the CFC. You will coach the leadership team, partner with Finance, HR, Asset Protection, Merchandising, and Stores, and champion safety and inclusion to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

The role requires strategic thinking, cross‑functional collaboration, and a track record of delivering results in distribution networks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in supply-chain processes and systems.
  • 5+ years of advanced knowledge of supply‑chain processes and systems.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs; capable of standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and training to colleagues, establishing standards and feedback.
  • Cultivate engagement, equity, and inclusion within the workforce.
  • Ensure efficient methods, controls, and staffing for timely product movement.

Job Overview

The Senior Director, Customer Fulfillment Center oversees all aspects of leadership, engagement, strategic planning, and overall financial and operational performance of the goods‑to‑person customer fulfillment center operations. The role develops short‑ and long‑term plans to drive continuous improvement, ensures achievement of facility and organizational objectives, and provides high‑level leadership, direction, and coaching to the CFC leadership team to accomplish operational goals.

What You Will Do
  • Provide coaching and training to colleagues through informal and formal programs, establishing consistent standards to ensure uniform coaching and performance‑based feedback.
  • Cultivate a culture dedicated to engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering a colleague‑centered workplace.
  • Ensure the efficiency of work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing, recommending alternatives to facilitate accurate and timely movement and processing of products.
  • Manage warehouse layout to maximize efficiency and adapt to seasonal and inventory fluctuations.
  • Lead all operational departments in alignment with company profit objectives and customer experience goals.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all operations KPIs (production and planning, cost control, safety, inventory, facility maintenance, and shortage).
  • Demonstrate community‑building skills and serve as a senior leadership representative for Macy's community relations.
  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives and identify optimization opportunities, participating in strategic and business process improvement projects within the distribution network.
  • Coordinate budget preparation and execution across operational functional areas.
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to track department progress toward stated goals and continuously drive process improvement.
  • Collaborate with business partners to achieve results and implement solutions across key components of business operations, including Finance, Human Resources, Asset Protection, Merchandising, and Stores.
  • Uphold a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

  • Industry Understanding: Knowledge of goods‑to‑person automation, warehouse management, and related business and intellectual competencies.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field; 5+ years of advanced knowledge of supply‑chain processes and systems.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 30 lbs, stand for at least two consecutive hours, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach above eye level; requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on department and company needs.
  • Travel required up to 15%.
