Job description

Working Conditions:

Primarily in an office environment indoors with frequent sitting for extended periods of time with occasional walking in and around a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing plant. May be required to travel (frequently) by automobile and/or common air carrier, with overnight stays (travel ~ 15-20%). Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 10 pounds, stooping, reaching, and bending in performance of financial and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the standardization of financial reporting and analysis across operating entities, group entities, and Corporate in partnership with Group Controllers and the Vice President, Corporate Finance.

  • Collaborate with Group Controllers to execute company strategy and achieve financial targets.

  • Support the Vice President, Division Finance in providing strategic counsel and financial insight to Executive Vice Presidents to drive profitable growth.

  • Direct the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, business activity reports, forecasts, and annual budgets for Alamo Group's operating entities.

  • Support mergers and acquisitions at the division and corporate levels, including evaluation of potential acquisitions and divestitures, due diligence, and post-transaction integration.

  • Partner with Corporate Accounting to prepare materials supporting internal and external audits.

  • Establish and maintain internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

  • Lead or participate in finance digitalization initiatives, including ERP upgrades and process automation.

Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and economic principles, financial markets, banking, and financial analysis and reporting, including cost accounting, GAAP, and IFRS.

  • Strong command of strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial planning principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, diagnose complex problems, evaluate alternatives and their relative costs and benefits, and implement effective solutions.

  • Proven capacity to constructively challenge the status quo across multiple entities and at the enterprise level.

  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with peers and senior leaders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Proficiency in developing and delivering executive-level PowerPoint presentations is preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and standard business software.

  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as financial reporting schedules require.

  • Demonstrated success leading finance across multiple business units or divisions and aligning diverse teams around unified operational goals.
