Senior Director, Clinical Data Management
Shape the Future of Clinical Research Through Data Excellence

Are you a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of clinical development, innovation, and operational excellence? We are seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Data Management to lead and inspire a large, globally distributed Clinical Data Management organization while driving the delivery of high-quality clinical data that supports life-changing therapies.

In this high-impact leadership role, you will oversee large-scale data management operations, influence global strategy, champion process innovation, and build strong partnerships with clients and internal stakeholders. Your leadership will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of clinical trials and advancing healthcare outcomes worldwide.

What You'll Do
Lead a High-Performing Organization
  • Provide strategic leadership for a large Clinical Data Management organization of 150+ professionals and/or multiple regional offices.
  • Build and execute workforce and capacity strategies that align with business growth and client commitments.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture focused on development, accountability, and innovation.
  • Mentor and develop future leaders within the organization.
Drive Operational Excellence
  • Ensure the successful delivery of clinical databases that meet quality, timeline, and customer expectations.
  • Optimize resource utilization, realization, and operational efficiency across teams and regions.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead strategic planning to ensure organizational readiness for current and future business demands.
Influence Global Strategy & Innovation
  • Partner with regional and global leaders to define department goals, technology strategies, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging data management technologies, industry trends, and competitive developments to drive innovation.
  • Champion adoption of new tools, processes, and best practices that enhance quality, efficiency, and customer value.
  • Support enterprise-level initiatives that strengthen the organization's data management capabilities.
Build Strategic Client Partnerships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, account teams, and functional stakeholders.
  • Lead executive-level discussions regarding delivery strategy, operational performance, and long-term partnerships.
  • Provide operational expertise for proposals, strategic alliances, and large-scale clinical development programs.
  • Represent Data Management in steering committees and strategic customer engagements when appropriate.
Champion Quality & Talent Development
  • Ensure teams maintain compliance with applicable regulations, SOPs, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement training and talent strategies that enhance technical and business expertise.
  • Create an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Lead performance management, coaching, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required, typically requires 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Significant leadership experience in Clinical Data Management within the CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research industry.
  • Deep expertise in clinical data management processes, systems, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex organizations and global teams.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $134,400.00 - $374,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
